What is CCAE?

With over 4,000 members, the California Council for Adult Education (CCAE) is the largest professional organization serving adult education in California.  CCAE is unique in that it serves all levels of the adult education family including teachers, classified employees, students and administrators.

What Does CCAE Mean To You?

CCAE provides Professional Development for Classified and Certificated staff members.  Our section also provides scholarships for adult students in all categories including Vocational English as a Second Language, GED and High School Diploma.  GED Academies and training are available for staff members.  We bring Legislative issues at both the State and Local levels to the attention of our members.  Our members have the opportunity to network with other adult educators to better serve our students.

CCAE privode information on STRS as well as representation for STRS.  Sometimes the organizations will have a Letter Writing Campaign for important issues.  Representatives are sent to Sacramento every year for Legislative Day to inform the government representative about Adult Education and what we do in adult education.

Conferences are held every year at both the state and section levels.  The conferences are informative and provide workshops for educators to attend.  The workshops deal with many different topics, important to you as an Adult Educator.

CCAE forms a professional relationship with both the Classified and Certificated staff members.  All are welcome to join and work together to improve adult education. Each chapter and section provides Staff Awards for Excellence.  This helps to provide members with a A Professional Support System.  Along with this support system comes leadership opportunities for members to become more involved and become board members.
